Insulation Cavity Wall Insulation
Houses built after 1930 usually of a cavity wall construction. Almost a third
of the heat in these homes can be lost through this cavity wall, so by filling
it up with insulating material we can make a big difference to the warmth inside
and to keep down heating bills.
Loft Insulation
One of the major ways in which heat escapes from your home is through the loft.
Luckily it's very simple to prevent this heat loss by laying insulating material.
If you currently have 100mm (4 inches) or less of insulation in your loft, you
may be able to have this topped up to 250mm (10 inches).
Draught Proofing Doors and Windows
Heat escapes around your outside doors and windows, as well as the edges of
your loft hatch or door. Although it's not much, you will be more comfortable
if we stop these draughts. Your house will be warmer and, over time, you'll
save money and energy.
Hot Water Tank Insulation
About 20% of all the energy you use in the home goes on heating your water.
So once it's been heated, you want to keep it hot for as long as possible and
we can help by insulating your hot water tank with a lagging jacket if it is
not already pre-insulated. It doesn't take long to do but it'll make a difference
to your bills.
Low Energy Light Bulbs
These low energy light bulbs have a number of benefits for you. They are just
as bright as ordinary bulbs, but they last eight to ten times longer. They use
only a quarter of the electricity and of course, because they last so long,
you won't have to change them as often as ordinary light bulbs.
Take a look at the heat loss from your property without adequate insulation. |
